shape shifting into higher vibes

I’m not sure about you, but I can be a cranky mother fucker often times a week. And when in the low vibration funk, I can be irritable, unmotivated, and depressed. When we aren’t feeling right we won’t be able to help ourselves, help others and perform at our best.

However, there are things we can do for ourselves in the moment to shift out of the shit mood ASAP. Some days it’s harder than others to pull ourselves out of the misery – but if you ever become aware that your mood is funked out, here are some tips I’ve learned along the way:

Exercise – Getting those endorphins flowing has great benefits for our bodies, including stress reduction and increased serotonin. Personally, if I miss more than two days in a row of getting my sweat on, watch out cause I might bite your head off!

Laugh! Cue up your favourite comedian and watch some stand-up. This will instantly lift your mood and bring you some much needed joy. Laughter is also said to improve our immune system, decrease pain, and lowers our stress. My faves include: Joe Rogan, Theo Von, Chris D’Elia, Bill Burr and Ali Wong.

Dance & Sing! ‘Hey Siri, Play Lizzo” is pretty much a daily morning ritual for me. Her beats give me that badass-woman-feeling I am seeking. If the song is right, I’ll dance around in my room, bathroom or kitchen, check myself out in the mirror and just take a moment to love myself. So the next time you feel low, turn on your current fave tune, and dance to release those shit feelings.

Spend time in nature – Multiple spiritual teachers urge how useful it is when we get out into nature.  Breathing in fresh air increases serotonin, vitamin D from the sun boosts our mood, and even the simple act of putting our barefoot in grass will help to ground us.

Express gratitude – Sometimes we spend too much time thinking about all the things we don’t have. This can cause us to get on a hamster wheel of regret. Rather, try taking a few minutes to write down a few items you are grateful for. I.e. I am grateful for my home, I am grateful for the air I breath, I am grateful for my friends and family, I am grateful for my able body.
