This pandemic is driving us crazy! The way government and health officials are handling everything is creating outrage and protests. We are questioning the logic behind the decisions being made, the restrictions put in place, the businesses and activities they deem “essential” and “non-essential”, and all we want are our freedoms back! And now depending on where you live, you may be abiding by a Stay-At-Home order…
So tell me Mr. and Ms. Government Officials, how’s a single girl supposed to find her partner, cultivate a relationship and start a family when she can’t even leave her own home? If you’re a 30-something single woman, you may end up a spinster due to these dyer circumstances. It is essential to a woman’s child-bearing years to be able to date during Covid-19.
What if you’re a single, 35-year-old woman who’s been looking for the love of her life for years. What if she’s been heartbroken, and had to rebuild time and time again. What if she met someone and feels this amazing potential with him, but due to a long list of government restrictions, she can’t even go meet him in person?
Is it not essential for her, and her biological clock to date, meet her match, get married and have babies? According to Google: “A woman’s peak reproductive years are between the late teens and late 20s. By age 30, fertility (the ability to get pregnant) starts to decline. This decline becomes more rapid once you reach your mid-30s. By 45, fertility has declined so much that getting pregnant naturally is unlikely for most women.”
Dating was already difficult enough in the pre-pandemic world. If we listen to these restrictions, the real dating game may not happen for another year or so, which really impedes on our tick-tick-toc time line we’ve all been warned about time and time again. By the time we meet our match, secure a relationship, get married and decide to have a family, we’ll be pushing 40 which will make it that much harder to conceive.
I wonder what the government’s thoughts are on paying for fertility procedures or the expense of freezing eggs? Are they going to help us when we’re 40 and ready to conceive?
Dating is essential to the thirty-something single woman who wants to have a family but restrictions are preventing us from being able to meet Mr. Right. And for some women finding prince charming could be one of the things they’ve wanted all their lives. Dating was hard enough in the pre-pandemic world, and now it’s just impossible. Are we doomed to be single forever?
